Raising visitor awareness

Nîmes welcomes visitors from all over the world all year round. Just a few kilometers from the city is an airport that is linked to the city center by a shuttle bus, which is available every time a plane arrives or departs.

Nîmes' geographical location at the crossroads of major motorways means that it is not only accessible by car, but also by public transport such as long-distance buses.
With a view to limiting the impact of cars in the city center, Nîmes has set up several park-and-ride facilities at city entrances. The one at the Nîmes Centre freeway exit provides a link to the historic center via a TRAMBUS line, and also has a car-sharing area. A parking lot further downstream serves the city's main sports facilities and the Parc des Expositions, and also has 9 parking spaces for tourist buses and long-distance services (Flixbus).

Nîmes is easily accessible by train, with 2 TGV stations: the main station at Nîmes-centre offers direct access to the historic city center, while the Pont du Gard station, 11 km away, is linked to the city center by shuttle bus. As a result, the destination is connected to the main traffic-generating regions: Ile de France, including Roissy airport, the Rhône Valley, Lille and Barcelona, to name but a few. The development of a network of regional trains and buses facilitates travel and access to numerous tourist sites.

We encourage our visitors to discover our destination using more environmentally-friendly means of transport. Once you're here, our travel consultants encourage you to discover the region using environmentally-friendly modes of transport: guided walking tours of the city, cycle tours...
But you can also discover the region thanks to the actions of the SNCF and the Occitanie Region, which have set up connections between the region's towns and cities by regional train or bus at particularly attractive fares, enabling you to discover the region easily, quickly, economically and ecologically .

We make our visitors aware of the importance of electronic information, and encourage them to download all our media. Professional brochures for groups, the press and business customers are only available online.

As part of our commitment to offering a wide range of activities to as many people as possible, we have adopted a welcoming strategy that makes our activities accessible to people with disabilities, and our reception office has been awarded the Tourisme et Handicap label.

We also take care to apply a pricing policy for our tours and activities that enables low-income customers to access our services. We offer special rates for young people and students, as well as for people in precarious situations, and we are developing partnerships with institutions to broaden our range of services, such as the City of Nîmes' youth passport.
In addition, we have created a tour offer that gives visitors almost 50% off the price of admission to all our sites: the Nîmes city pass is available in 2, 4 or 7-day formulas.

The region's tourism offer is promoted through a catalog of discovery offers for individual customers, focusing on gentle activities and the consumption of short-distance products, drawn up in partnership with local service providers. A similar approach has been adopted for group customers.
