Saint-Gervasy is a residential village located 10 km east of Nîmes, at the foot of the garrigue hills. Formerly an agricultural village, mainly devoted to winegrowing, it has managed to preserve its authenticity and distinctive personality, despite a growing population due to its proximity to Nîmes.
History
Saint-Gervasy is first mentioned in 1156 as "Villa Sancti Gervasi". The village has seen a number of historical events, including the Wars of Religion and the French Revolution. In the 18th century, a place of pilgrimage developed around the Pechicard hill.
