Château de Caveirac

Historic sites and monuments

Caveirac

From 1653 to 1826, the château was owned by three successive families: Boisson, Sartre and Novy. Today, the château is largely owned by the town of Caveirac.

The château was the scene of clashes in the Vaunage between the troops of King Louis XIV and those of the Camisards led by Jean Cavalier in the early 18th century.
The 1st-floor study has been listed as a Monument Historique since December 23, 1981. The rest of the château, the outbuildings and the garden are listed as Historic Monuments.
